2Why the fast answer fails
To write
The fast answer is one aggregator showing what was filed with it, and what was paid to sit at the top. Write out the consequence: the small hall that publishes only on its own site does not exist there, and that is where the interesting thing usually is.
3The hard part
Consent. Until August 2026 Plaqat read venues’ own sites with one scraper per venue. A site that did not block us had still not said yes, so every one of those scrapers was switched off, and the catalogue now comes only from sources that agreed to be reused: the city’s open data, official ticketing APIs, partner catalogues, and newsletters venues send us themselves.
The cost is coverage. A small hall that publishes only on its own site is missing until it writes to us — and a gap is better than a listing taken without asking.
4Product decisions

Three to five decisions with their trade-offs. Candidates: only sources that agreed, which costs coverage; no ticketing inside, so the visit ends elsewhere; partner links always labelled and never allowed to decide what is listed or how it ranks; no infinite surface — follow and saved lists are retrieval, not browsing; outgoing clicks and attended events as the measure rather than daily returns.
5Where it is now
On the App Store since 9 September 2026, after a public beta that opened on 13 August. The web app at plaqat.app carries the same listings.
